Arriving at Seoul Airport on March 25th, Nadella is slated to headline the Microsoft AI Tour on March 26th. This event,themed AI for everyone,will be held at the Yangjae AT Centre in Seoul. Nadella’s keynote address will center on the transformative power of AI innovation and its potential to drive change across various sectors.

Strategic Meetings with Korean Industry Leaders

Nadella’s itinerary includes high-profile meetings with key figures in the South Korean buisness landscape. These discussions aim to integrate AI solutions into diverse industries, fostering innovation and growth.

Amorepacific: Exploring AI in Beauty

A meeting with Amorepacific executives, including CEO Kim Seung-hwan, focused on leveraging AI technology within the beauty industry. This collaboration coudl lead to personalized skincare solutions, AI-powered product recommendations, and enhanced customer experiences.

KT Corporation: Advancing Korean AI Models

Discussions with KT CEO Kim Young-seop centered on the advancement of a Korean-style AI model, a joint project between KT and Microsoft. The conversation also touched upon the deployment of a Secure Public Cloud, aimed at facilitating the adoption of AI solutions within the public sector. This partnership underscores a significant investment, with KT and Microsoft committing to a joint investment of ₩2.4 trillion (approximately $1.8 billion USD) over the next five years.

KT and Microsoft have agreed to jointly invest 2.4 trillion won over five years. The public Secure Cloud will be launched in Korea in the second quarter.

Galaxy Corporation: AI’s Role in Entertainment

Nadella also engaged with Choi Yong-ho of Galaxy Corporation, the agency representing G-Dragon, to explore potential collaborations in the enterech industry. this includes utilizing Sora, OpenAI’s video generation model, for producing innovative artist music videos. Galaxy Corporation is planning G-Dragon’s solo performance at Las Vegas Sphere next year, aiming to penetrate the global market by merging AI with artist performances.

Engaging with the Startup Ecosystem

Beyond established corporations, Nadella is scheduled to meet with representatives from several South Korean startups, including Lutton technology, Upstage, Liner, and Masspresso.These meetings highlight Microsoft’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the AI ecosystem in South Korea. He is also expected to meet with Cho Ju-wan, CEO of LG Electronics, and Kang seok-hoon, president of the Korea Industrial Bank, further solidifying Microsoft’s strategic partnerships in the region.
