Israel has again attacked targets in the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire, RT Erdogan said in Ankara.
“They are not only attacking Gaza, but they are constantly seeking to subjugate it through starvation and genocide, and this is still going on,” the Turkish leader emphasized. This is how he reacted to the speech of F. Merz, who was asked by a Turkish journalist about the war in Gaza.
The German chancellor said that Israel has become a place of refuge for millions of Jewish Holocaust survivors, and therefore, according to him, Germany will always stand firmly on the side of the state of Israel.
“Israel exercised its right to defend itself, and a single decision would have been enough to avoid many needless casualties. Hamas should have released the hostages and laid down their arms earlier.” Then the war would have ended immediately,” said F. Merz.
RT Erdogan then stated that, unfortunately, he could not agree with him. Hamas is said to have no nuclear weapons and bombs, while Israel has all of these weapons and has bombed Gaza again despite the cease-fire.
Turkey has good relations with the Islamist group Hamas. Ankara played an important role in brokering a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip more than two weeks ago.
