Mental Health & Comedy: INFOLAPLATA Play Review

by drbyos

Next Wednesday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m., the Coliseo Podesta Municipal Theater will open its doors to receive “The Magical Madness,” a theatrical proposal written and directed by Berissense actor Diego Brasich, who also stars in the play alongside Paula D’Ambra.

The performance will take place in the China Zorrilla Room of the historic theater of La Plata, located at Calle 10 No. 733 between 46 and 47, with tickets available through Plateanet or at the theater box office.

The Magical Madness is a dramatic comedy that invites you to reflect on the limits between sanity and madness, questioning social prejudices around mental health. “The work talks about whether we are really the crazy ones or the society that discriminates against us,” Brasich explained.

With a sensitive, humorous and deeply human tone, the work combines poetry, tenderness and social criticism, and seeks to connect with the public through emotions. “It has a lot of poetry, it is very beautiful to see, it is familiar. I am very happy to be able to take it to the Colosseum, which is an imposing and emblematic place,” said the actor.

Brasich wrote this play more than 20 years ago, and his return to the stage also represents a personal reunion with his beginnings in playwriting. “It was my first play. I wrote it many years ago and today to be able to present it in this space is a huge source of pride,” he highlighted.

The project was presented to the Podesta Coliseum team, who quickly became interested in the proposal. “They liked the idea and called me. So we are happy to be able to share it with the La Plata public,” he added.
