The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Megawati will receive the award of an Honorary Doctorate Degree (HC) from Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University Riyadh.
Megawati arrived in Riyadh on Sunday (8/2/2026) after a week’s working visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The PDIP General Chair arrived at the Royal Terminal, King Khalid International Airport, accompanied by his son M Prananda Prabowo and wife Nancy Prananda.

Megawati was welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz Ahmad, the Indonesian Defense Attaché (Athan) in Riyadh, Brigadier General Eri Nasuhi, and the Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP for Foreign Affairs, Ahmad Basarah.
The awarding ceremony for the honorary doctorate will be held on Monday. Regarding this agenda, Megawati’s daughter who is also the Chair of the Indonesian DPR, Puan Maharani, has arrived in Riyadh.
The honorary doctorate that Megawati will receive from Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University adds to the list of honorary degrees she has received.
