Suchitepéquez, 05 Dec (AGN). – The second phase of the construction of the Mazatenango – San Francisco Zapotitlán highway is currently advancing. This stage includes the placement of two layers of asphalt tape, essential to guarantee a safe, resistant and long-lasting section.
Fifteen days ago, the removal of the deteriorated asphalt and the preparation of the land began, processes necessary to ensure that the new surface meets the standards that the population deserves.
The governor of Suchitepéquez, Mariana Enríquez, highlighted that the project is going according to plan and responds to the commitment assumed with the municipalities: she explained that they are working responsibly to address the needs of the population and that the agreements reached with the mayors and neighbors are becoming facts. He also pointed out that inter-institutional coordination has been key for the works to advance as quickly as people require.
Government priority
The official stressed that quality is a priority and that this effort seeks to provide a decent path for those who use this road every day. He called on the population to be patient and take precautions, as there could be momentary delays in traffic while the work continues.
This stretch of road had been a historical demand of the population, and today, after years of waiting, it is becoming a reality during the current administration.
These actions are part of the commitment of the Government of Guatemalaled by the president Bernardo Arévalo de Leónto recover the infrastructure that for decades did not receive attention, returning security and dignity to the communities.
The departmental government reaffirms that it will continue to join forces with institutions, civil society and the executing company to ensure a transparent, efficient and truly transformative work for Suchitepéquez. When the voice of the population is heard, changes begin to be felt along the way.
