Mexican actress Mayrín Villanueva is the latest celebrity to fall victim to the increasingly sophisticated world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) deepfakes. After her verified Facebook account was compromised, cybercriminals have been disseminating fabricated, explicit images, prompting the actress to issue a public warning.

Despite the verified status of Villanueva’s Facebook profile, hackers managed to gain unauthorized access. the compromised account is now being used to post images that falsely depict the actress in revealing situations.
Villanueva Speaks Out Against Deepfake Deception
In a recent statement to the press, the Televisa star explained the ongoing struggle to regain control of her hacked Facebook account. “They hacked the Facebook (account) and I can’t recover it. he already has a while, but this person who hacked me already made until a page to subscribe,” she stated, highlighting the severity of the situation.

Villanueva, known for her role in “Neighbors” [[1]] [[2]], is actively working to dispel the false images. she emphasized that these images are not authentic and that cybercriminals are superimposing her face onto other people’s bodies using AI technology.
“As it is indeed my page and is certified,and it has two million and so many followers,people say ‘Yes Mayrín’,but it’s not me. It’s false, they already taught me, they got into (to the account) and they taught me. There are photos that it is indeed not even my body and my face is. They do not fall,it’s not me. It’s all lie,”
