System established by March 2027… How to reduce the burden of normal amount is a task

(Tokyo = Yonhap News) Correspondent Park Sang -hyun = The Japanese government is planning to completely eliminate the burden of childbirth expenses in response to a sharp drop in birth children.

According to the Nihon Geizai Shimbun (Nikkei) and the Asahi Shimbun on the 15th, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare obtained consent at the expert meeting the day before, explaining that it will promote specific institutional design for free burdens of standard maternity costs.

The Japanese government plans to establish a free birth -free system by March 2027, but the specific timing of implementation has not been determined.

In Japan, only a part of the cesarean section, such as cesarean section surgery, is applied to public medical insurance, and normal delivery is not the target of insurance.

The government pays 500,000 yen (about 4.8 million won) to reduce the burden on the summit, but the national average of the nation in April -September last year was about 518,000 yen (about 5 million won).

The delivery costs are autonomously determined by medical institutions, and the difference in the normal delivery costs by region is high.

In 2023 (April 2023 -March 20124), the average normal delivery cost was 625,372 yen for Tokyo, but Kagoshima Prefecture was far less than 38,796 yen (about 372 million won).

Because of this situation, it has been pointed out that it is not easy to calculate the ‘standard maternity fee’ to be applied uniformly.

In addition, the obstetrics and gynecologist organizations oppose the cost of medical insurance at normal delivery, and that the cost of medical care should be made to the cost of medical services, and thus can suffer from future management difficulties.

Nikkei introduced that there was also an increase in maternity subsidies as a free birth fee, and at the meeting, there was a lot of view that the increase in support was limited and needed to think of other methods.

Asahi said, “It is expected to take time to design the system,” he said.

Last year, the number of births in Japan was estimated at 72,988, the minimum ever since 1899. It also includes foreigners, which will be below 700,000 people if only Japanese are aggregated.

The number of births including foreigners was 1 million in 2014, down 28% in 10 years. Japan’s National Social Social Security and Population Research Institute predicted that the number of births including foreigners decreased to 720,000 in 2039, but it was actually 15 years ahead.
