Fostering Intergenerational Connections Through Play

Sustainable Innovation: Beer Brewed from Air Moisture
“FromAir®” Beer: A Solution to Water Scarcity
Addressing the growing concern of water scarcity, Indian brewery The Bier Library has partnered with Uravu Labs to produce “Beer FromAir®,” a beer made by extracting moisture from the air. Conventional beer production requires significant amounts of water, with only a fraction of the water used actually ending up in the final product. Uravu Labs has developed a device that uses silica gel to absorb moisture from the air, which is then heated to produce water vapor and collected as water. This process is powered by renewable energy and saves approximately six glasses of groundwater per glass of beer. As environmental awareness increases, sustainable alternatives like “Beer FromAir®” are poised to gain traction.
