Macron Named Three Risks For Europe: Brutal Death…

by drbyos

French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Europe faces a triple existential risk of survival: military, economic and social. He stressed that without action, the European way of life could quickly collapse.

He stated this in an interview with The Economist.

Macron explained that he made his remarks about the possible death of Europe during a speech at the Sorbonne University, based on the words of the French philosopher Paul Valery after the First World War that we now know that civilization can die.

The French President identified three main risks to the existence of Europe: military and geopolitical risk, economic and technological challenges, and a crisis of democracy or social risk. He noted that recent years have exacerbated these risks, which poses a serious threat.

Macron stressed that Europe must be prepared to defend itself, since it can no longer count on the same protection from the United States of America. He also stressed the importance of developing Europe’s economy and technology to compete with other countries.

“This is a triple existential risk for our Europe: a military and security risk; an economic risk to our prosperity; an existential risk of internal incoherence and the breakdown of the functioning of our democracies.

We Will Welcome Easter With A Meteor Shower…

Meteor shower

We will welcome Easter with a meteor shower. Earth passes through the tail debris region of Halley’s Comet, reports Space.com.

The stream is known as Eta Aquaridi and is expected to be particularly active this year. Viewing conditions are best from the southern hemisphere, as most meteorites appear to come from the lower part of the constellation Aquarius.

In the southern half of the Earth, they will be able to observe about 60 meteorites per hour. In the Northern Hemisphere, they will be less – between 10 and 20 per hour in more northern areas and 20 to 40 in more southern areas.

Most of them will be lower on the southeastern horizon around 3am local time. Therefore, it is advisable to choose a high place with a spacious view. Of course, a clear sky is also necessary.

Astronomers advise to look mostly for horizontal meteorites. They traditionally have longer and brighter tails and are easier to observe. But they are usually closest to the horizon and run parallel to it. Other meteorites are vertical and may pass across the sky upwards, but they are not as bright.

Eta Aquaridi will continue to be visible for the next few days,

The demonstrators demanded in particular an end to fossil fuel subsidies and the implementation of a national emergency plan for a transition to a thriving economy, without fossil fuels, which would protect the most vulnerable and the ecosystem.

A majority of activists then left the scene to head towards Place Jean Rey, where another demonstration by the organization was taking place. Around sixty activists, however, decided to stay put and extend the blockade of rue Belliard by sticking to the asphalt. They were administratively arrested.

A police intervention denounced by Extinction Rebellion which refers, in a press release, to “disproportionate police violence”. “The gathering between Place Jean Rey and Rue Belliard in the so-called EU district during the “EU Open Days” gave rise to an unprecedented reaction from the Belgian police forces,” denounces the organization .
