The Regional Government of the Azores declared a catastrophe due to the fire that occurred this morning at the Ponta Delgada Hospital.

The hospital is unable to continue operating and has been ordered to be evacuated by the end of today.

The president of the regional government even admits to chartering planes to transfer patients from the Island of São Miguel to Terceira.

Due to the fire, the Ponta Delgada Hospital was no longer able to operate. Monitoring the situation is the regional secretary of Health, who explains to Antena 1 that there is already a reinforcement of the Health Centers.
