The Regional Government of the Azores declared a catastrophe due to the fire that occurred this morning at the Ponta Delgada Hospital.
The president of the regional government even admits to chartering planes to transfer patients from the Island of São Miguel to Terceira.
Due to the fire, the Ponta Delgada Hospital was no longer able to operate. Monitoring the situation is the regional secretary of Health, who explains to Antena 1 that there is already a reinforcement of the Health Centers.
Mónica Seidi says that the regional government has already activated an emergency plan for the hospital. The regional secretary of Health cannot say when it will reopen, but
