French President Emmanuel Macron officially announced today “Monday” at the United Nations that “France today recognizes the state of Palestine for peace between the Israeli and Palestinian peoples.”

Macron said in a speech in New York during a conference on a “two -state solution” that “the time of peace has come,” stressing that it appears through this step, “France fulfills its historical commitment” in the Middle East.

“Therefore, we bear a historical responsibility. We must do our best to maintain the possibility of a two -state solution, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security,” he added.

Thus, France joins Western allies such as Britain and Canada, who took the same historical step “Sunday”.

Macron considered that the recognition of the State of Palestine is the only solution to achieve peace for Israel, as he saw that this was “a defeat of Hamas.”

He said that “the Palestinian state must be demilitarized,” noting that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas “confirmed his support for Hamas’s disarmament.”

The French President continued: “The Gaza war must be stopped to save the hostages of the hostages and the inhabitants of all Gaza.”

Although Macron stressed that France’s commitment to Israel has not changed, he said that it links the level of cooperation between them with its procedures to stop the Gaza war and achieve peace.
