According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will take place at the Executive headquarters in Brasilia and will address various topics of bilateral interest, including energy cooperation, regional physical integration, trade and investments.
These conversations will also include issues related to the fight against transnational crimes, cooperation for development, as well as immigration and consular issues.
The visit occurs after both leaders held a meeting last January in the capital of Panama, during the opening day of the International Economic Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean.
On that occasion, the Brazilian head of state invited his Bolivian counterpart to visit Brazil in the first half of the year and announced that the meeting could also include the participation of businessmen from both countries.
During that meeting, Lula and Paz discussed infrastructure projects and investment opportunities, analyzed South American integration routes and evaluated alternatives to guarantee Bolivia’s access to ports that facilitate the exit of its production.
They also addressed the resumption of dialogue in the energy sector and joint initiatives to combat organized crime in the Amazon.
The Brazilian Foreign Ministry recalled that Brazil and Bolivia share the largest land border of the South American giant, with more than three thousand 400 kilometers in length, and maintain a historical relationship in the energy sector.
Both countries also participate in important regional infrastructure projects, including the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway, the South American integration routes and the future construction of a bridge over the Mamoré River, which will connect the cities of Guajará-Mirim, in Brazil, and Guayaramerín, in Bolivia.
According to official data, bilateral trade reached 2.6 billion dollars in 2025, with Brazilian exports to Bolivia for 1.3 billion and imports from that country for the same amount.
The Bolivian president’s agenda will continue on Tuesday in São Paulo, where he will inaugurate a business event aimed at promoting trade and investment opportunities between both nations.
