A timely double by Luis Arráez propelled the San Diego Padres to victory last night. This marks the third consecutive game where Arráez has delivered a crucial hit, further solidifying his role as a key offensive contributor.
The Venezuelan infielder had a productive night,going 1-for-4 with a run scored,a run batted in,and his tenth double of the season.His performance was instrumental in the Padres’ win.
Arráez’s Key Double Shifts Momentum
Luis Arráez’s pivotal moment came in the sixth inning. with Fernando Tatis Jr. on base, arráez lined a double into the left-field corner, driving in Tatis Jr. to tie the game. Arráez then scored the go-ahead run on a groundout by Jackson Merrill, capping off a game-changing rally for San Diego.
The double brought Arráez’s RBI total to 20 for the season. Through 54 games with San Diego, he is now batting .289.
Notably, Arráez has recorded extra-base hits in four of his last eight games, and he maintains a .317 average with runners in scoring position.
The Padres initially took the lead in the fourth inning when Manny Machado doubled and Merrill singled after Isiah Kiner-Falefa misplayed the ball.
