From Pop Icon to Director: Lorie Pester’s Evolution

Lorie Pester, a prominent figure in the French entertainment industry, is embarking on a new creative endeavor. Known for her successful music career in the 2000s and subsequent transition to acting, Pester is now stepping behind the camera to direct a police television film for France 3.

Pester rose to fame with catchy pop hits like I will be, On a Latin air, and Near me. Her music resonated with a generation, leading to the sale of over eight million records across eight studio albums and three live albums. Though, in 2008, she shifted her focus to acting, appearing in television films and series. For instance, Fire and Ice garnered significant viewership, attracting over 6.3 million viewers.

Behind the Camera: “The Mysteries of the Régulus Caves”

France 3 recently announced that Lorie Pester will be directing The Mysteries of the Régulus Caves, a 90-minute police TV movie. Filming commenced on March 26,2025,and is scheduled to continue until April 22 in the Charente-Maritime region. The film stars Shemss Audat, known for her roles in Profilage and Boulevard du Palais, as a gendarme investigating a murder in caves, reminiscent of a decade-old cold case.

While Pester has directed sequences for the series Tomorrow Belongs to Us and a short film,this project marks her first time directing a full-length TV movie. This transition highlights her versatility and ambition within the entertainment industry.

Addressing Endometriosis Through Film and Literature

Beyond her mainstream entertainment work, pester has also used her platform to address personal and social issues. She directed a six-minute short film, I won’t tell you yes, endy, focusing on endometriosis, a condition she herself experiences. Endometriosis affects approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, causing chronic pain and potential fertility issues, according to the World Health Organization.

Pester has also openly discussed her health journey in her book, relive, where she shares her experiences with endometriosis and undergoing a hysterectomy. She details the logistical and emotional challenges of managing her health while balancing her career and family life,including the support she received from her partner,Yann,her daughter Nina,and her parents.
