Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14: Intel, Screen & SD Card Reader Details

Lenovo offers some laptops as Aura editions, demonstrating a close collaboration with Intel. This is also the case with the 14-inch Yoga Pro 7i Gen 10 multimedia laptop that we just reviewed. It’s obviously powered by an Intel processor and our review unit was equipped with the Core Ultra 9 285H. It offers good performance for both the CPU and the iGPU, but there is no notable advantage over the AMD version. However, the Intel processor requires a lot of power and the short-term power limit is 115 Watts, which is obviously a challenge for a compact laptop. Therefore, Yoga cannot maintain this level for a long time. If you use the power profile Performance the fastest, you will quickly hear the fans.

The Intel model is also equipped with an OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 3K and 120 Hz. The image quality is excellent and it is even slightly better than the 2.8K screen from the AMD SKU in terms of frequency, brightness and PWM flicker. The combination of the 3K display and Intel processor, however, also affects battery life and the AMD version is superior in this regard (especially at high brightness levels).

We have no idea why Lenovo only ships the Intel models with a card reader and this seems to be a deliberate decision against the AMD versions, which is simply not related to the choice of processor. This also brings us to the question of which version is better. There are many similarities, but if you also consider the price, the AMD model is the best overall.
