Kuwait reported that it had been attacked by “enemy missiles and drones” and its air defenses were immediately activated. The General Staff specified that the loud explosions heard in the country were the result of the interception of air targets.
Minutes later, the United Arab Emirates also confirmed they had been targeted. The Ministry of Defense announced that air defense systems are actively neutralizing missiles and drones aimed at the country.
The attacks come amid rising tensions in the region after Iran was hit by the US and Israel late last month. Since then, Gulf states have increasingly been the target of retaliation.
The situation shows a dangerous escalation – the conflict is already going beyond the boundaries of one country and affects the entire region.
The risk of a wider military confrontation in the Middle East remains high.
