Kremlin Responds to Trump: Putin’s Time Concerns

by Archynetys World Desk

The dates for the summit between President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump have not yet been set. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Reuters.

He emphasized that neither Putin nor Trump want to waste their time.

“Actually, the dates haven’t been set yet, but it’s before that careful preparation required – takes timeis,” Peskov pointed out.

Asked about Trump saying he didn’t want to waste his time, he said: “Nobody wants to waste their time, not President Trump, not President Putin.”

Peskov noted that a lot of misinformation, gossip and rumors swirled around the summit, which were mostly false.

Separately, Peskov announced that the Russian president will not personally attend the G-20 conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, which is scheduled for November.

“Putin will not participate in person, but Russia will be represented at a high level. And we will inform you in due course who it will be,” he assured.

The White House yesterday postponed a planned summit between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as Moscow rejected calls for an immediate ceasefire.

A senior US official said that no plans to meet soon.

The US president later said he did not want a “wasted meeting” with his Russian counterpart after a meeting between the two that was supposed to take place in Budapest fell through.
