Seattle has found a secret recipe in recent weeks: on March 15 they defeated Vancouver on their ice 5-2. It was one of those games after which I want to say that the Vision of hockey is changing. Dave Hextall‘s team took the initiative immediately: Jared McCann, in the fourth minute of the first period, scored the 17th goal of the season after neat assists from Brendon Montour and Jordan Eberle. Evander Kane managed to tie the score, but Seattle responded instantly: Bobby Mcmann realized the majority and regained the lead. The second period was a continuation of the performance: Jamie Oleksiak connected to the attack and brought the score to 3-1.
The third of twenty minutes only consolidated the impression: a double from Mcmann, a goal from Matti Beñés and the final 5-2. Excellent positional work, quick flank connections, active play from Eberle and of course Philip Grubauer’s reliability in the gate with a .941 reliability factor. The victory strengthened Seattle’s position in the playoff race, and the team with 69 points is in ninth place in the Western Conference.
