Emma Navarro, the 24-year-old American player, participated in the WTA-500 tournament in London the previous week. In London, Navarro’s performance was lackluster, reaching only the quarterfinals where she was defeated in straight sets by fellow american Amanda Anisimova with a score of 3-6, 3-6 on June 13.
Emma Navarro is currently ranked tenth in the WTA rankings.
Kostyuk and Navarro have faced each other twice, with Navarro winning both encounters. Their most recent match was on August 30,2024,at the US Open,where Navarro prevailed in three sets with a score of 6-4,4-6,6-3 on the hard courts of New York.
