The opposition politicians currently working in the National Assembly are in a strange situation, as several parties have announced that they will not run in the elections, so many of them will surely lose their current jobs, so we looked at how much wealth they have for life beyond Parliament. Of course, in addition to them, we will not forget those who will challenge themselves in April 2026.
Those who don’t start
Momentum was one of the first to be kicked out of the campaign, we will certainly not see them in the next parliament. The faction leader of the party, David Bedő an XI. as the owner of a 64-square-meter apartment in the district, you can prepare for civilian life, and you even have your used Skoda Octavia. In addition to 15.4 million shares and 6.3 million discount treasury bills, 5.2 million credit institution account receivables came together under his representation, the balance is worsened by a 9.6 million home loan.
Momentum partner, Márton Tompos Since 2010, a 34 square meter, VII. owns an apartment in the district and bought a Kia Nero last year. Her savings amount to roughly HUF 10 million, almost as much as her 11 million babysitting loan. In addition to his representative’s salary, he also has income from renting out apartments.
The LMP’s streak began already in February 2025, when their parliamentary faction ceased to exist, and then Peter Ungár, the co-chairman of the party not only announced that he would not run in the election, but also waved goodbye to public life and took a position in child protection. If he hadn’t found a job, he wouldn’t have had to worry either, since he comes from a billionaire family through his inheritance and his mother, Mária Schmidt. All of this does not seem clear based on his asset declaration, he has around HUF 21 million in his account – this has not changed much compared to the previous asset declaration – and he owns a quarter of a 340 square meter, II. district family house. He has a painting by István Zámbó, which he also received as a gift, and he drives a six-year-old Toyota Rav 4. The majority of his wealth is made up of the shares he inherited from his father and entrusted to a trust, and previously he could not say how many billions this could represent.
The running-not-running debate led to serious debates and a wave of exits in the Dialogue, but we are probably not wrong in saying that none of the decisions would make a particular difference in the election results. The faction leader of the party, Bence Tordai a II. in addition to a 130-square-meter residential house in the district, he also owns a property in Magyarnándor and owns an almost eight-year-old Toyota Avensis Versó. He holds HUF 7 million in an investment fund and has a credit institution account receivable of HUF 5 million. A 16.8 million loan as co-debtor accounts for most of his debts, and he also owes HUF 2 million to private individuals.
Those who are starting and those who don’t know yet
Ferenc Gyurcsány we are waiting for his assets declaration in vain, since the former president of the Democratic Coalition retired from politics after his divorce. However, there were still plenty of politicians from DK who reported how much money they had. Taking over the post of president of the DK, and ending her marriage to Ferenc Gyurcsány at the same time To Klára Dobrev due to a 2025 law, he had to declare his assets for the second time as an EP representative according to Hungarian rules. This revealed that since the divorce, he still owns three properties, and in 2025 some progress may have been made in the division of assets:
- half of the house in Kötcs still belongs to him,
- the sole owner of a 400 square meter Budapest, II. for a district apartment,
- and another II. he is now the sole owner of a district apartment, which he previously owned only half of.
He still has his Toyota Rav 4, which is now 10 years old, and he also stated that he gave HUF 105,180,000 to a family member to buy a home (this is a family loan that was given jointly with his ex-spouse to buy a home, of which he owns half). It also turned out that she still has to pay back HUF 26.9 million from the loan she took out with her ex-husband to buy the house in Kötcs.
DK faction leader, László Sebián-Petrovszki he is the owner of a residential building in Békéscsaba, and farmland in Békéscsaba and plot girdling. He doesn’t have a car, and it turns out what he spends his money on instead: he has a constantly growing collection of 2,700 political and political science books, and he also keeps buying Gross Arnold’s graphics, although only eight of them have been collected. He has 14.9 million in pension insurance, 9.7 million in life insurance and 10.3 million in private pension funds.
Ágnes Vadai, the party’s deputy faction leader is a XIII. the owner of a 77-square-meter apartment in the district, in which he also stores Herend porcelain and paintings that he received as a gift. His investment amounts to almost HUF 10 million, and he also has a claim of HUF 75 million. At the same time, he also owes 7.5 million to private individuals, but in return he has voluntary and private pension fund savings of 7.9 and 18.2 million, respectively.
Zsolt Gréczy a 45-square-meter condominium apartment in Siófok received as a gift and an XI. the owner of an 80-square-meter apartment in the district can commute between the two properties with a Toyota Corolla. He listed HUF 22 million as an account receivable from a credit institution, and has no debt.
He moved from Jobbik to the DK through the People’s Party Peter Jakab according to last year’s declaration of assets, the independent member of parliament had virtually no real estate, movable property or other valuable artefacts or collections, he did not invest in securities or bonds, and in cash or current accounts neither was saving a penny. He didn’t have any other assets, but at least he didn’t accumulate debts, and his only source of income was his representative’s salary. But now he finally managed to move forward.
While previously his only asset was an 18-year-old Opel Astra H vehicle, last year he also managed to acquire a Suzuki Vitara, and according to his asset declaration, he also accomplished the feat of not aging a year in the old Opel, and remaining 18 years old.
However, the biggest change in his statement of assets is that he now lists HUF 7.5 million in cash, while his only income is still his representative’s salary.
The first man of Our Country, László Toroczkai he currently owns half of a farm in Ásotthalm, and also owns a field and a road in Ásotthalm. True to his party’s policy, he prefers cash and keeps HUF 11 million in his pillow case. The debt of the president of Mi Hazánk to the credit institution was still 3.6 million in 2024, but according to his declaration of assets, he managed to reduce it to zero. He still couldn’t buy a car for himself.
He also indicated political support and significant debts from Hungarian individuals in his most recent declaration of assets Ákos Hadházy independent parliamentary representative.
While the last time he was able to account for 1.7 million forints in private donations for his political work, this year he already reported 24.5 million, which was referred to him by approximately two thousand supporters, as he puts it, “for the illegal and arbitrary punishments of Comrade Kövér” and for the support of his political work.
He continues to list three properties: an apartment in Szekszárd, half of which he owns, a larger vineyard in Fácánkert and a 30 square meter apartment in Vienna, half of which he also owns. His economic interests still include Hadházy-Vet Kft., where he works as an executive without remuneration. He has neither a car, nor a watercraft or aircraft.
The representative’s debts to credit institutions amount to 11.9 million: he has two larger debts, one of 6.6 and one of 5.3 million. It owes individuals 3 million forints, just as much as in 2024. In addition, he owns HUF 10.8 million in investment units, and he also has an account receivable of HUF 11 million in HUF and foreign currency.
The president of the MSZP, who will decide on running in the elections only later, Imre Komjáthi He owns 2/5 of a family house in Edelek, but according to his statement, he has no other assets. As a co-debtor, he repays a 9.1 million and a 3.5 million loan.
Brenner Kolomanthe deputy president of Jobbik, which is determinedly preparing for the April contest, is the owner of two properties in Sopron for a quarter and a half, and according to his property declaration, he bought a Mercedes for HUF 7.5 million in 2024. He has HUF 44.8 million worth of investment certificates and no debts.
Property declarations night 2026
All Members of Parliament submitted their asset declarations by the deadline. It turned out that Viktor Orbán did not manage his money well this year either, because while the last time he and his wife owed 5.7 million forints, this year it is only 5.065 million forints.
The ministers were not idle last year either. János Lázár needed 19 extra pages to list all his properties.
Tamás Sulyok is diligently saving for his retirement years, as he has 16.2 million forints in a pension savings account (NYESZ) and 77 million forints in bonds.
As an EP representative, Péter Magyar had to declare his assets, which revealed that, true to his promise, he got rid of his 4iG shares and keeps his savings in euros instead of forints.
In the asset declarations of prominent representatives of Fidesz, missing family houses, motorboats, vintage cars and debts of one hundred million forints also appear.
