Jakarta –
Timur Kapadze is in Indonesia with EGI Sport. The former coach of the Uzbekistan National Team actually came to Indonesia for a holiday.
Kapadze is rumored to be on PSSI‘s radar as a replacement for Patrick Kluivert. Kapadze has a track record of being able to take Uzbekistan to the 2024 Olympics and the 2026 World Cup.
“Facilitated by EGI Sport, Kapadze’s official agenda was a holiday. However, the public could not help linking this arrival with the hot seat of the Indonesian national team coach which is currently empty after the departure of Patrick Kluivert,” read an EGI Sport statement.

Managing Director of EGI Sport, Rulit Candra, openly admitted that his party was trying hard to take advantage of Kapadze’s desire to vacation in Indonesia. This could also make EGI Sport a bridge for the selection period for the Indonesian National Team coach seat.
While in Indonesia, Kapadze visited Tangsi Beach (Pink Beach) in East Lombok, Monday, November 24 2025. He also played football on the beach with the EGI Sport team.
“There was contact once from the federation, with Sumardji. But it wasn’t concrete. At that time I was asked ‘is there a desire, is there a plan (to handle the Indonesian National Team?). The question is very general, that’s all,” said Kapadze last Friday at his press conference in Jakarta.
