His inaugural match at the helm will be against Iran on june 5, 2025, at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Following this,the team will travel to Tashkent to face Uzbekistan on june 10,2025. These matches are critical for Qatar’s aspirations to secure a spot in the upcoming World Cup.

Lopetegui’s Return to the Sidelines

This appointment marks Lopetegui’s return to coaching after a brief hiatus following his departure from West Ham on January 8, 2025. During his time with the english club, he managed the team for 22 games.
