Jokowi Prefers PSI, Sahroni Suggests Passing Political Baton to Next Generation

Following speculation about joining the United development Party (PPP), Indonesia’s seventh President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has stated his preference for the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). Ahmad Sahroni, a treasurer of the Nasdem Party, sees no issue with this political alignment.

“He (Jokowi) wants to go anywhere,” Sahroni commented to reporters on Monday (9/6/2025), regarding Jokowi’s political choices.

Sahroni suggested that Jokowi should prioritize enjoying his post-presidency life, drawing a parallel with the approach of former President susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

“He (Jokowi) wants to go anywhere,”

Sahroni believes Jokowi should entrust political responsibilities to his children and son-in-law, envisioning them as future leaders.

“Yes, as a suggestion and input, give political affairs for children and daughters who are currently on duty,” he stated.

“Mr. Jokowi as a father must always be Ngawasin Children and existence who are working for the people.God willing, they will be the successor to Mr. Jokowi in the future,” Sahroni added.

Jokowi previously addressed rumors of joining the PPP leadership race, affirming his allegiance to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).
