Following his exhilarating success on Thursday with the Racing Post Long Distance Novice Chase, Ewing led 7-4 favorite Romeo Coolio to victory in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle on Friday afternoon.

Gordon Elliott’s trained horse, Romeo Coolio, showcased exceptional strength and resilience under Ewing’s guidance. In foggy conditions at Leopardstown, Romeo Coolio led Bleu De Vassy by a significant margin of nine lengths, with Eastern Legend placing third.
“He’s a fine, big, strong traveling horse,” said Ewing in an interview on RTE. “Once he’s out and going he’s straightforward enough.”
The jockey noted that while the win required some stamina upfront, Romeo Coolio performed admirably throughout the race.

In the opening Grade One race of the day, an unlikely hero emerged. 28-1 outsider Solness, ridden by JJ Slevin, dominated from start to finish in the Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase.
Trained by noted handler Joseph O’Brien, Solness claimed victory by three and a three-quarter lengths, leaving the 13-8 favorite Gaelic Warrior and Marine Nationale trailing in second and third.
