According to NBC, the incident happened shortly before 5 a.m.
They report that the Port Authority responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident on the southbound Van Wyck, by the entrance to JFK’s central terminal.
There, officers found the on-duty customs officer, who they say told them another driver had attacked him after a minor vehicle accident. The officer said he fired his duty weapon several times during the altercation.
