The Iowa Board of Regents has contracted AGB Search, based in Washington, D.C., to facilitate the search for the next president of Iowa State University. This decision follows Wendy wintersteen’s announcement of her retirement plans, set for 2026, made on may 16.
AGB Search will be responsible for several key aspects of the selection process. These include defining the search objectives, creating a detailed position specification and timeline, identifying and actively recruiting potential candidates, aiding in the screening process, maintaining communication with candidates, coordinating interviews, and conducting thorough background checks. According to a news release, the firm’s compensation will be 25% of the annual base salary agreed upon with the selected candidate for their first year, in addition to covering expenses.
