The Hague group also stressed that these proposals should not be “optional” but “binding under the Convention on Genocide, the International Criminal Court’s advisory opinions and the United Nations resolutions.”
Palestine‘s ambassador with the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, was present at the meeting and indicated that it may represent A “turning point” For the “Accountability” of Israel to occur as a “prior and fundamental step towards doing justice” to the Palestinian people.
This summit was held after this week expired the 12-month period established by the United Nations General Assembly to comply with provisional measures of the International Court of Justice and after the recent announcement of the United Nations Independent International Investigation Commission, which concluded that Israel is perpetrating a genocide in Gaza.
