Israel-Gaza: Ground Offensive Begins in Gaza City

by Archynetys World Desk

According to a media report, the Israeli military has started a soil offensive to fill Gaza city on Tuesday night. The Axios news portal reported this, citing Israeli government officials. Previously, residents of the northern Gaza Strip had reported particularly severe air and artillery attacks. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed doubts about a diplomatic solution for Gaza.

The Israeli news site “Walla”, citing an employee of the military general staff, reported that “intensive operation has started, which includes a variety of fire against numerous terrorist goals”. The employee said: “This is just the beginning, there is a whole list of goals.”

According to Israeli media reports, the severe explosions were also heard in Israel. The Israeli security cabinet approved the intake of the city of Gaza in the north of the coastal strip sealed by Israel in August.

For Rubio, the war would end if all hostages – including the corpses of the hosts already died – would be released and the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas no longer exists as an armed group that threatens the Gaza strip, he told the broadcaster Fox News on his trip to Israel, according to the speech. “Ideally, in a perfect world, you would achieve this through a diplomatic agreement.”

Hamas would agree to give up its weapons, dissolve and to leave all hostages free. That would be the ideal result, but it did not occur.

“So if it does not end in this way, then it has to be ended by military use.” He believes that Israel does not prefer this path itself, said Rubio.

The US Foreign Minister wants to travel to Qatar after visiting Israel and meet the Emir of the Gulf State, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. After the Israeli attack on the leadership of Hamas in Katar’s capital Doha, Rubio will reaffirm the support of the United States for the security and sovereignty of Katar, it said on the website of his ministry. He will also appreciate the valuable role of Katar as an intermediary between Israel and Hamas. The topic should therefore be the goal of completing the Gaza War.

According to Rubio, both he and US Vice President JD Vance and President Donald Trump met last Friday after the Israeli attack of Katar’s Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in the USA.

Qatar conveyed with the USA and Egypt in the war between Israel and Hamas. The conversations about a ceasefire and the release of the hostages captured in the Gaza Strip have not been making ahead for months.
