Tensions soared as Israel and Iran exchanged missile strikes for the third consecutive day, marking a important escalation in their ongoing conflict.
The exchange occurred as US President DONALD TRUMP urged both nations to negotiate a resolution, raising the possibility of US military intervention.
On Sunday, both sides launched daytime offensives, triggering air raid sirens and explosions in JERUSALEM and TEL AVIV during the evening.
Local authorities confirmed that an Iranian missile impacted a residential area in the coastal city of HAIFA, resulting in injuries to seven individuals.

In response, Israel launched extensive strikes within Iran, targeting nuclear facilities and at least 80 locations throughout the capital city of TEHRAN.
prime Minister BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, during a visit to BAT YAM, the site of an Iranian missile strike that resulted in multiple fatalities, asserted that Iran would “pay a very heavy price for the premeditated murder of civilians, women and children.”
The missile strike in BAT YAM led to the deaths of at least 10 individuals, including children, bringing the total number of casualties in Israel over the past two days to 13.
Netanyahu Warns of ‘Heavy Price’ for Iran
NETANYAHU suggested in an interview with FOX NEWS that the ongoing conflict could potentially lead to a change in government in Iran, which he accused of seeking Israel’s destruction.
However, these remarks appeared to contradict earlier statements made by IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel SHOSHANI, who stated that Israel’s objective was “not regime change.”
“Iran will pay a very heavy price for the premeditated murder of civilians, women and children,”
Trump Reportedly Blocked Plan to Kill Khamenei
NETANYAHU declined to comment on a REUTERS report alleging that President TRUMP had rejected a proposal to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah ALI KHAMENEI.
According to US officials familiar with the situation, TRUMP opposed a plan presented by Israel to eliminate KHAMENEI.
Reportedly, Israeli officials had informed the TRUMP administration of their progress of a viable plan to assassinate the Iranian leader.
after being briefed, the White House communicated to israeli officials that TRUMP was against the operation, according to an official who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.
NETANYAHU refrained from directly addressing whether the White House had rejected the plan.
“There’s so manny false reports of conversations that never happened, and I’m not going to get into that,” NETANYAHU told host BRET BAIER.
He added, “But I can tell you, I think that we do what we need to do, we’ll do what we need to do. And I think the United States knows what is good for the United states.”

Mr TRUMP said.
In a subsequent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, TRUMP urged Iran and Israel to “make a deal” to resolve the conflict.

Other global leaders, including British Prime Minister KEIR STARMER and German Chancellor FRIEDRICH MERZ, have called for de-escalation from both sides.
