The iPhone 19e is predicted to use a 120 Hz LTPO OLED screen in 2028.
ProMotion technology makes screen animations smoother and more responsive.
The iPhone 19e screen panel may adopt the specifications of the iPhone 17 Pro.
Suara.com – Good news for Apple fans, the long wait to experience the super smooth screen technology on the ‘cheap’ version of the iPhone seems to be ending soon.
So far, Apple’s “e” series has always been a little outdated, especially when it comes to the screen.
While Android competitors in the same price class are already running around with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the iPhone 17e debuts with a 60 Hz panel.
However, a recent report from ZDNet Korea providing a glimmer of hope that Apple will finally bring this high-end feature to its affordable lineup with the iPhone 19e.
According to rumors circulating, Apple plans to embed a 120 Hz LTPO OLED screen on the iPhone 19e which is predicted to launch in spring 2028.
This technology is not just an increase in numbers, but is the same technology behind the ProMotion feature on the iPhone Pro series.
This means that the screen can dynamically adjust the refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz depending on the content being displayed.
The result? The experience of scrolling social media, transition animations and playing games will feel much more responsive and pleasing to the eye.
This is a big jump from the 60Hz LTPS panel used on the current iPhone 17e.
To reduce production costs, Apple is expected to return to using components from previous flagship models.
The iPhone 19e screen panel will most likely borrow specifications from the iPhone 17 Pro series, with high resolution and brightness levels.
The switch to LTPO technology not only makes for a smoother display, but is also much more efficient in power usage, potentially providing better battery life.
Apart from that, other premium features such as always-on display, which has been exclusive to the Pro model, will most likely also be present thanks to the efficiency of the LTPO panel.
Even though it has to wait until 2028, this is a positive signal that Apple is hearing what its users want.
Before the big leap in the iPhone 19e, next year’s iPhone 18e model will reportedly be a bridge by adopting Dynamic Island, abandoning the outdated notch design.
