IPhone 16 Sales: Lower Than Previous Models?

The iPhone 16th made a remarkable entry into the European market in March … but perhaps not as well as Apple would have hoped. The model is indeed pale appears in front of its predecessors, and it is quite easily explained.

Launched at the very end of February, theiPhone 16e did not fail to have a small effect on the European market. The Counterpoint figures indicate that the iPhone “entry -level” (with many quotes) ranked 9th in the best -selling models on the old continent in March. He sparked in particular in Western Europe, where he takes 7th place squarely.

The question of price

With 2 %of the total sales, the iPhone 16th is certainly far from its big brothers the iPhone 16 Pro (6 %) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max (5 %). On the other hand, it is in a gruppetto composed of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A16 5G and iPhone 15 which all, also revolve around 2 %.

But this performance is in trompe l’oeil. Counterpoint notes that the iPhone SE 3rd generation (2022) and iPhone se 2nd generation (2020) were much better placed after their first month of marketing: 6th and 3rd in the sales of smartphones.

The iPhone 16th represented 8 % of iPhone sales in total in March, compared to 12 % for the iPhone SE 3, and 19 % for the iPhone SE 2.. You should not go very far the reason: that of the portfolio. Difficult indeed to speak of an “affordable” iPhone for the new model, which is offered from € 719 in France. The launch price of the iPhone SE 3 had been € 200 lower at € 519, while the iPhone SE 2 only cost € 479.

In front of the exorbitant prices of the new, the reconditioned and the opportunity are on the rise in Europeans: it is good for the environment and for the budget, less for the iPhone new.
