After winning the MLS final against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Inter Miami is aiming to defend its title next season.
In order to achieve this goal, the club around superstar Lionel Messi is specifically upgrading.
For the goalkeeper position, Inter Miami signed last season’s MLS goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair from Fitz club Minnesota United.
Busquets and Alba resigned
The defense, which has often been vulnerable recently, is also being strengthened. Left-back Sergio Reguilón, who has already played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham in Europe, will replace the retired Jordi Alba.
Facundo Mura from Racing Club will occupy the right defense, while Micael from Palmeiras will strengthen the central defense of coach Javier Mascherano‘s team. The latter was loaned out for the time being. The Florida team has a purchase option.
Rodrigo De Paul, who was only on loan in the first half of the season, is now being signed permanently for around 15 million euros.
In addition, 23-year-old Argentine David Ayala is set to join the team this season. The midfielder has been under contract with the Portland Timbers since 2022.
Allende also in pink next season?
However, the future of Tadeo Allende remains unclear. Transfer poker is looming for the winger, who was on loan from Celta Vigo last season.
Around ten million euros are available to tie him to Inter Miami. River Plate is also interested.
Allende impressed across the board in the post-season: with nine goals in six play-off games, he was, alongside Messi, the outstanding player in the decisive phase.
