An Indonesian citizen (WNI) with the initials CHT participated in immigration raids at the Hyundai factory, United States (US). At that time, CHT was meeting with Hyundai.
“The US Authority (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) conducts raids at the Hyundai Mega Site Battery Plant in Georgia. Of the hundreds arrested, there are 1 Indonesian citizen on behalf of CHT,” the Director of Protection of Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), Judha Nugraha told reporters on Saturday (6/9/2025).
“CHT is one of 3 employees of PT. HLI Green Power Yamg is having a meeting with Hyundai,” he continued.

The incident occurred on Friday (5/9) local time. Judha said that CHT documents while in the US ranging from business trips, passports, visas to invitations from complete companies.
“CHT has a business trip plan for 1 month in the US and is equipped with passport documents, visas and invitations from the company,” he said.
Furthermore, Judha said that the Indonesian Consulate General in Houton had communicated with Cht and Hyundai colleagues. Currently the Indonesian Consulate General in Houton will provide assistance to CHT.
“The Indonesian Consulate General in Houston has communicated with the Folkston Ice Processing Center, GA, where the Cht is detained. The Indonesian Consultants have also communicated by Cht and Hyundai Mega Site Battery Plant colleagues. There is no detailed information from the ICE.
