Volunteers are invited to participate in the first annual ICONic Riverfest on June 11, a regional cleanup event focused on enhancing the quality, safety, adn enjoyment of local water trails. The event will run from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m.
Participants will work to remove debris and invasive species from designated sites within the ICON Regional Network.The day will commence with a morning coffee hour and check-in, featuring welcoming remarks to kick off the event.
Following the cleanup activities, volunteers are invited to a celebration featuring live music and lunch at Captain RoyS, located at 1900 Saylor Road in Des Moines. Cleanup locations span the ICON network, including sites in Altoona, Bondurant, Des Moines, Johnston, Norwalk, West des Moines, Windsor Heights, Waukee, Urbandale, and Polk County Conservation parks.
