The grandson of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto, Danty I Purnamasari, responded to the pros and cons of the plan to give his grandfather the title of hero. He offended that humans are not free from mistakes.
“As for the pros and cons, that’s a normal thing. So my hope is that the people themselves will also feel the impact of the development that has been carried out by Pak Soeharto himself,” said Danty at the NasDem Party DPP, Central Jakarta, Sunday (9/11/2025).
As Suharto’s grandson, Danty hopes that his grandfather will be given the title of hero. Because, Soeharto also gave many positive things.

“Pros and cons are normal things, of course humans are not free from mistakes. But we have to see that he also has many positive things. like that yes, and a lot of this development is felt by the community,” he said.
Furthermore, Danty said that Suharto’s family had received news that the title of hero would be awarded on November 10. However, it has not been clearly explained whether the family has received the invitation.
“If the family receives the news, thank God we have also received the news,” said Danty.
“(Accepting the invitation) I can’t answer that yet. But please pray for everyone’s blessing, hopefully Pak Harto will get the title of hero,” he added.
Previously, the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul said that a list of 49 names who would be given the title of hero had been submitted to President Prabowo Subianto. The Minister of Culture (Menbud) Fadli Zon submitted the list of names to the President.
“Yes, of course it has been (submitted to the President), from the Titles Council, right? Mr. Fadli Zon has already gone to the President to submit the names that have met the requirements,” said Gus Ipul to journalists in Central Jakarta, Saturday (8/11).
Gus Ipul detailed the names proposed consisting of 40 new proposals and 9 from previous proposals that had not been determined by the President. He explained that of the 49 names, there were the figures of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto and labor activist Marsinah.
“There are several names, including of course President Soeharto, President Gus Dur, there is Syekhona Kholil Bangkalan, there is Kiai Bisri Syansuri, and there are other fighters from various provinces. (Marsinah) yes, enter, enter, (category) labor fighter Marsinah is also included from those 49,” explained Gus Ipul.
He said that the announcement of the 49 names who would be given the title of hero would later be made directly by the President. He also asked the public to be patient while waiting for confirmation of the list of names of the 49 figures who will be given the title of hero.
