Edencrest Senior Living Expands with New Adel Facility
The 10th Edencrest community opens in Adel’s Southbridge neighborhood, offering assisted living and memory care.
ADEL – Hubbell realty Co.’s 10th Edencrest senior living facility has opened in Adel’s Southbridge neighborhood.
the $17 million community includes 44 assisted/self-reliant living units and 26 memory care units. assisted and independent living units include studios and one- and two-bedroom homes.
The facility is managed by Hubbell’s Highmark Senior Living property management division.
Hubbell Realty, headquartered in west Des Moines, opened its first Edencrest senior living facility in 2014: Edencrest at riverwoods in Des Moines. It opened two other Edencrest facilities in the past year, one in waukee and the other in Pleasant Hill.
“As the [baby] boomers age, Iowa’s overall growing senior population has driven the need for senior living communities – assisted, independent and memory care,” a Hubbell spokeswoman wrote in an email. “This demographic is intentional in vetting their long-term decisions, especially when it comes to living.”
Hubbell has no immediate plans to develop more edencrest facilities, the spokeswoman wrote.
“While we see the demand and future needs for cared housing based on the aging population, we believe we’re at a point where we need to focus on the quality care, customer service and maintenance of our current communities.”
Edencrest at Adel, 621 302nd Place, is 7% leased after opening in early May. Six residents are expected to move into the facility within the next two weeks, the spokeswoman wrote. Amenities at Edencrest at Adel include fitness centers, gathering spaces, general store, barber shops, spa and family areas.
Edencrest at Adel is near trails and a new walk-in health clinic. A new high school for the ADM school district is planned across the street from the facility.
A grand opening event is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. June 26 at the new facility. The event will include tours of the facility,live music,and food and beverages. The event is free and open to the public.
