In recent times, the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting have gained popularity not only as strategies to reduce body weight, but also for their potential beneficial health effects. Both are characterized by causing a drop in blood sugar (blood glucose levels).
Taking into account that glucose is the main nutrient for our brain, it is worth asking: is drastically reducing sugar consumption harmful or beneficial for our brain? Are these diets better than the traditional Mediterranean diet?
The ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting
The ketogenic diet began to be used almost a century ago as a treatment for patients with severe drug-resistant epilepsy. This eating plan consists of reducing sugar consumption (less than 10% of total calories consumed) while increases the consumption of fats of vegetable and animal origin (more than 75% of total calories).
The strategy causes an important change in metabolism. Our tissues begin to oxidize fats, instead of glucose, as the main source of energy. However, since neurons are unable to use fats as food, the liver is forced to manufacture ketone bodies from fats, which do serve as nutrients for the brain. This process is known as ketosis.

In the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) manned lunar exploration, which resumes after half a century, the rover that will fly on the lunar surface has been narrowed down to three candidates.
NASA announced on its official blog on the 3rd (local time) that the final candidates for the development of the “Lunar Terrane Vehicle (LTV)” for the Artemis project are “Intuitive Machines”, “Luna Outpost” and “Venturi Astrolab”. It was announced that three companies would be selected.

These three companies will develop the LTVs that astronauts from NASA’s lunar exploration project “Artemis” will take to the Moon by 2030. This is a new lunar exploration vehicle introduced 50 years after Apollo 15 in 1971.

Tekken 8s soundtrack is getting the vinyl treatment
Bandai Namco Announces Tekken 8 Soundtrack Vinyl Collection
In a thrilling announcement for Tekken fans, Bandai Namco has revealed that the soundtrack for Tekken 8 will be released as a vinyl collection. This special box set will include a total of 42 tracks from the highly anticipated game, spread across five separate discs.
The collection is being produced by Laced Records and will come in several different editions.
