Housing Projects Selling Fast: Next Phase Launching Soon

The start of the construction of the housing project took place after the summer of this year.

On the site of the old ABB building in Billingstad, 420 new homes will be built over the next few years.

The project, which has been named Kobberkvartalet, contains one-room apartments of 30 square meters to larger homes of up to 118 square meters.

Now the sale of the apartments in the first two sales stages has gone so well that the developer is changing his original plan for when the next sales stage should be launched.

– The interest in Kobberkvartalet has exceeded all expectations, which is why we choose to go out earlier than planned with the next sales stage, says Ingvild Rysstad Slommerud, project manager at Ferd Eiendom.

Posting 61 more apartments

In a press release, the company states that 98 out of 142 apartments that have been left out in the first two sales stages have now been sold.

Ferd now chooses to put up sales stage three, which consists of a further 61 homes, for sale already at the beginning of November, which is much earlier than planned.

Stage three introduces several new floor plans that have not previously been available either in the Kobberkvartalet or in Vestre Billingstad.

Among the novelties are apartments with the possibility of a rental part, as well as two-storey apartments with extra ceiling height, a separate entrance and private front gardens.

Buyers from different backgrounds

The buyers of the nearly 100 apartments that have already been sold vary in both age and composition, according to Ferd.

– The buyers mainly come from Oslo and Asker, and include both young first-time buyers, families, investors and locals who want a new home adapted to their living situation, says Rysstad Slommerud.

According to Ferd Eiendom, the development of the Kobberkvartalet is going according to plan, and work on digging and foundation works is now in full swing.

The first apartments are planned to be completed during the first quarter of 2028.
