Battling Illness: A Testament to Resilience

Agatha Carolina recounted Hotma Sitompoel’s battle with kidney failure, a condition he had been managing since January 2024, requiring regular dialysis treatments. In October 2024, his condition worsened, leading to his transfer to Penang, Malaysia, for specialized medical care.

Agatha described a harrowing period: There Papa had a coma 40 days at the ICU. We all changed guard, and when Papa finally realized, we really considered a miracle. This period of uncertainty tested the family’s strength and faith, making his eventual recovery all the more cherished.

Cherished Moments: The Final Months

Following his recovery in Penang, the family brought Hotma Sitompoel back to Jakarta, steadfast to make the most of their time together. These last months were filled with precious moments and strengthened family bonds.

Hotma Sitompoel passed away at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Kencana,surrounded by his family’s love and prayers. Agatha Carolina reflected on these final months, stating, the last four months means to me and my family. We are grateful to be accompanied by Papa until the end.
