A Military Farewell at San Diego Hills

The final farewell to Hotma Sitompoel took place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the San Diego Hills memorial park in Karawang. The ceremony held military honors, a tribute to the Satya social Service Award bestowed upon Sitompoel by then-President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2013.This award recognized Sitompoel’s critically important contributions to social welfare, highlighting his commitment to serving the community.

Family Reflects on a Life Well-Lived

The funeral was attended by family and close friends, including his son, Dhito Sitompoel, and daughter-in-law, Agatha Carolina. Dhito sitompoel, alongside his wife, Agatha Carolina, conveyed a message of strength and faith during the service.

For us, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Papa is now rejoicing in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our family will continue his legacy, championing Mawar Saron to aid the impoverished and oppressed, glorifying God’s name.

The Mawar Saron foundation,presumably a charitable organization,will continue to receive support,ensuring Sitompoel’s commitment to aiding the vulnerable endures.

Battling Illness with Resilience

Agatha Carolina shared insights into Hotma Sitompoel’s battle with illness, revealing the strength and determination he displayed throughout his ordeal. She recounted his extended coma in Malaysia, highlighting the family’s unwavering support during this challenging period.

Papa had kidney failure since January of last year, so manny were surprised about Papa’s departure. For us to have seen a fairly long process from Papa last January,starting dialysis and in October Papa had time to drop from Jakarta,we flew to Penang by plane.There was 40 days of coma, in the ICU was unconscious. The family took turns looking after each other until finally Papa was given a second chance and according to us was a miracle.

The family’s dedication to his care was evident, as they maintained a constant presence by his side, both in Malaysia and upon his return to Jakarta.

A Final Farewell in Jakarta

following a period of stability,Hotma Sitompoel returned to Jakarta,where he spent his final months surrounded by loved ones.The family expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be with him until his last moments at the RSCM (Rumah Sakit Cipto Mangunkusumo) hospital.

The Sitompoel family finds solace in the belief that Hotma Sitompoel has found eternal peace. His contributions to law and society will be remembered, and his legacy of service and faith will continue to inspire future generations.
