Molino de Las Vegas Altas has opened its oil mill, in the Pacense town of Gargáligas, with the aim of becoming a referent in Extremadura. A new industry, which will begin its activity in the 2025/2026 campaign, designed under the principles of innovation, sustainability, circular economy and proximity, Always putting the farmer in the center. Its mission is to provide services that increase the value of agricultural production, facilitating access to a more fair and competitive market, and supporting producers in an increasingly demanding environment.
The opening ceremony, the Secretary General of Sustainable Development, Coordination and Water Planning of the Board of Extremadura, Víctor del Moral, together with the mayor of Gargáligas, Pedro Fort, and the mayor of Don Benito, Elisabeth Medina, among other authorities and businessmen of the sector and the region.
During the presentation, José Luis Morlanes, partner of Molino de Las Vegas Altas, wanted to highlight the Confidence of the business project in the olive oil sector because it will have a “first magnitude growth potential in the next 15 years”, in Extremadura and in the Las Vegas Altas region, which will be a “reference in the superintensive culture of the olive grove.”
Morlanes ha subrayado la “Illusion and effort” To start this oil mill, “a tool at the service of Extremadura olive producers that will allow them to revalue their products.”
He also stressed that the business project will allow the creation of about thirty direct and indirect jobs and will serve 24 hours a day seven days a week.
For his part, the mayor of the town, Pedro Fort, has congratulated the promoters to whom he has appreciateddo that have opted for Gargáligas to launch facilities “at the forefront in terms of technology, innovation and sustainability”, which will “avoid depopulation, that families go because of the lack of opportunities.”
Finally, the Secretary General of Sustainable Development, Coordination and Water Planning of the Board of Extremadura, Víctor del Moral, has stated that the inauguration of Molino de las Vegas Altas is a “first -order event” and highlighted the “professionals with long experience in the sector” who have launched it.
Del Moral has assured that, in addition to job creation, this industry “guarantees that the added value that generates the field stays in Extremadura. “
Las Vegas Altas Molino is equipped with the latest technology and an advanced management system. Its design and capacities will allow highly efficient reception, grinding and storage, positioning it at the forefront of the oleicultural industry.
The implementation of this agri -food industry will generate more than 30 direct and indirect jobs when it reaches full production, promoting the economic development of Gargáligas and the region of Vegas Altas.
