A political and judicial move in Lebanon to prosecute Hezbollah in a step paving the way to form a broad national political front to “drop its dominance on the Lebanese state” and put an end to its threats.
According to prominent Lebanese deputies, Al Ain News revealed, a group of representatives and political figures filed a complaint with the discriminatory public prosecutor against Hezbollah Secretary -General Naim Qassem, next week, after statements described as a direct threat to the Lebanese state and endangering the civil peace.
The deputies revealed to Al -Ain Al -Akhbariya that “the complaint will be filed with the participation of between 5 and 10 deputies, and includes everyone who shows the investigation as a partner in inciting the state.”
This move came in the wake of statements by “Qasim” recently, which carried a direct threat to the Lebanese state and endangering the civil peace. These statements came in response to the party to the Cabinet’s decision on August 7, to limit weapons in the hands of the state, and to assign the army to develop a plan to complete this during the current month and implement it before the end of 2025.
In a previous statement, Hezbollah Secretary -General Naim Qasim warned the government against confronting the party, saying: “There is no life for Lebanon if you will stand in the other prank, and try to confront us and eliminate us. Lebanon can only be built with all its ingredients. ” He continued: “The resistance will not hand over its weapons, the aggression continues, and the occupation exists, and we will fight it with a Karbala battle if necessary in the face of this Israeli -American project.”

In a remarkable movement, MP Ashraf Rifi, former Lebanese Minister of Justice, revealed in a special interview with Al -Ain News, the progress during the next week a complaint with the discriminatory public prosecutor against Hezbollah Secretary -General Naim Qasim, and everyone who shows the investigation as a partner or incitement against the Lebanese state, provided that the complaint carries the signatures of between 5-10 deputies.
A step that Rifi attributed to Hezbollah’s threat to expose Lebanon to a civil war, incitement to the state and civil peace, noting that “the silence about what the Secretary -General of Hezbollah committed, is exposing the Lebanese life to a great danger, and praising their freedom.”
On the importance of the complaint submitted against the leader of Hezbollah and its impact, the former Lebanese Minister of Justice said that “the judicial movement carries great political and moral feasibility at the present time, in addition to the legal feasibility at a later time.”
Warning to Hezbollah: Go back to the state
A meeting was held in the office of MP Ashraf Rifi yesterday, in which he participated – in addition to Rifi – Representatives George Aqis, Kamil Chamoun, Elie Khoury, the former deputy Eddie Abi Al -Lamaa, the lawyer Elie Mahfoud and Dr. Abdul Majeed Awad. During it, they discussed Qasim’s recent statements, which – according to the two societies statement – “touched the limits of exposing Lebanon to a civil war and stirring sectarian strife”, as they described them.
After the meeting, these deputies and political figures in Lebanon announced their intention to file a complaint with the discriminatory public prosecutor against Hezbollah Secretary -General.
Rifi said in a previous statement that “the Sheikh Naim Qassem Party inherited by Lebanon the occupation and humanitarian and economic disaster, and today after the defeat threatens the state and the Lebanese.” He directed his speech to Hezbollah, saying: “Stop escaping forward, and returned home and the state.” Mardaf: “We warn you of the repeated threat of civil war, it is a great catastrophe for everyone, especially you after you are used and you have all the Lebanese components.”
Dismantling Hezbollah Front
The complaint filed against Qasim quickly responded to Lebanese political forces. The deputy of the Lebanese Forces Party, Fadi Karam, announced the solidarity of the party’s deputies with the judicial move against Hezbollah, expressing in an exclusive interview with Al -Ain News that he was hoping to end the threats of Hezbollah, and to resolve the Lebanese government and the judiciary the issue of restricting weapons in the hands of the state.
Karam emphasized “the unity of the internal political front against Hezbollah, while the party’s front is disintegrated.”
The independent deputy, Bilal Al -Hashaimi, also confirmed in an interview with Al -Ain Al -Akhbariya that the lawsuit against the party’s Secretary -General is a legitimate legal path, adding: “I will study the possibility of joining according to the national interest and what is consistent with the sovereign line.”
He explained: “Any discourse threatens the Lebanese and exposes the civil peace is definitively rejected, and I am with every step that enhances the sovereignty of the state and the law and protects people.”
What about the impact of the judicial complaint?
“The complaint is not only symbolic, but a serious test of the prestige of the judiciary in the face of those who put themselves over the constitution and the law.” This is what the Lebanese political analyst Tariq Abu Zainab commented, in confirmation that the complaint carries a great legal effect.
Tariq Abu Zainab said in an interview with Al -Ain News: “We believe in the just Lebanese judiciary, and this is a historical opportunity to say the judiciary. If the judiciary does not move before a public threat to a civil war, when will he move? ».
In his response to the possibility of forming a wide political front in light of the judicial move of a number of deputies, he said: “If other deputies and forces join, then we are facing the features of a national front whose goal is to drop Hezbollah’s hegemony over the state.” Considering that “any step to break the wall of fear that Hezbollah built deserves support, and the complaint is not a judicial confrontation, but rather the beginning of a political path to confront the party’s project.”
“The Battle of Karbala” .. a very dangerous transformation
Asked about the seriousness of Hezbollah’s threat to a civil war, and is it realistic or merely a maneuver to intimidate the Lebanese? The Lebanese political analyst answered: “This is just an intimidation, because the party knows very well that any civil war is tantamount to his execution, and it will undergo internal and external pressure.” Explaining the matter by saying: “Hezbollah waved chaos whenever it feels that the project of removing its weapon is approaching.”
And he added: “To wave a war of an open maneuver, either accepting its dominance, or a threat to destroy the country. This is the logic of the gangs, not the logic of the parties. ”
Regarding the significance of Hezbollah Secretary -General’s hinting of a “battle of Karbala”, Abu Zainab said: “The use of this term is very dangerous, because it transmits the conflict from a politician to a bloody ideological conflict, and places Lebanon hostage to a religious narration that the party uses to justify its weapon.”
As for his threat to a “civil war”, according to Abu Zainab, it is a clear indication that the party does not see itself as part of the state, but rather a state within the state, which imposes its conditions either by force or blood.
Regarding the choice of Qasim, the timing of his statements, he explained: “The party feels that the scene is narrow. The matter is not a political discourse, but a direct threat to dragging Lebanon to complete collapse if the file of weapons is opened.
With the escalation of the attack against Hezbollah, some of the Amal movement deputies – headed by Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri (Hezbollah ally) – tried to alleviate Qasim’s statements, and a member of the Development and Liberation Bloc, MP Qassem Hashem, said: “Qasim’s political words can be placed in the framework of a warning of any step that the government might complete to confront disarmament by force.”
