[점프볼=부산/이재범 기자] KCC escaped its three-game losing streak despite Heo Hoon’s painful injury.
Busan KCC won 100-81 in the home game against Seoul Samsung in the 2025-2026 LG Electronics professional basketball game held at Busan Sajik Gymnasium on the 21st.
KCC, who escaped a three-game losing streak, recorded 25 wins and 24 losses, widening the gap with 7th place Suwon KT (23 wins, 25 losses) to 1.5 games.
Samsung, which has suffered 7 consecutive losses, suffered its 35th loss (13 wins) and is in 10th place, two games behind Daegu Korea Gas Corporation (15 wins, 33 losses) in 9th place.
KCC scored 6 points in a row from the start of the game. However, with 7 minutes and 35 seconds left, Heo Hoon left the court with a broken nose and was momentarily shaken.
Heo Hoon was taken to the hospital immediately after being injured, and upon examination, he was diagnosed with a fractured nasal bone.
KCC, which fell behind 6-10 by conceding 10 points in a row, overwhelmed Samsung with a 15-3 score in about 4 minutes to come back to 21-13.
They scored 11 consecutive points in 2 minutes and 53 seconds in the second quarter, which started with 26-20. KCC, who gave up a 3-point shot to Ho-bin Han and added consecutive scores from Jun-yong Choi, widened the gap to 41-23, 18 points.
Afterwards, KCC, who had a scoring battle with Samsung, entered the third quarter with a 59-46, 13-point advantage.
With 6 minutes and 48 seconds left in the third quarter, KCC ran away with a 21-point lead, 70-49, thanks to Heo Woong’s fast break.
KCC was trailed by 89-76 at one point in the fourth quarter, but scored by Song Kyo-chang and Yoon Ki-chan, widening the gap again and coming closer to victory.
KCC won thanks to the performances of Sean Long (24 points, 11 rebounds, 2 3-pointers), Choi Jun-yong (22 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks), Song Kyo-chang (13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists), and Jang Jae-seok (10 points, 6 rebounds). Choi Jin-kwang, who took the court instead of Heo Hoon, recorded 9 points and 8 assists.
Samsung was unable to end its losing streak despite the efforts of Kerem Kanter (27 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists), Ho-bin Han (14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 3-pointers), Justin Goutang (12 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 3-pointers), Kwan-hee Lee (10 points, 2 3-pointers), and Won-seok Lee (9 points, 6 rebounds).
