Heinz Ehlers is the new CP Berne coach, the capital club announced on Monday. The 59 -year -old Danish succeeds the Finnish Jussi Tapola, dismissed after the bad start of the bear in National League.
Technician recognized for his defensive style of play, Ehlers had led the HC Visp to the promotion-relegation dam (4-1 defeat against Ajoie) after a title of champion of Swiss League last season. He then took the direction of Basel, where he officiated as assistant to Eric Himelfarb since the start of the exercise.
The former coach of the HC Bienne (2007-2009), LHC (2013-2016) and Langnau (2016-2020) therefore returns to National League. He will be assisted by the Czech Pavel Rosa, who bounces after his departure from the staff of Friborg-Gottéron at the end of last season.
Heinz Ehlers succeeds Jussi Tapola, dismissed from his Tapola functions, removed from his duties in the aftermath of a heavy defeat in the Zähringen derby against Friborg (5-1). He will try to relaunch bears blocked in 12th place in the National League ranking (11 points in 11 games).
