In the north and north-central Vietnam, the sky will be cloudy early in the morning, with light fog and a few scattered showers. By midday and into the afternoon, the sky will clear and the sun will appear, with temperatures generally between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius. In the northwest of the country, especially in Dien Bien, Son La and Lai Chau, the sun will shine in the morning and temperatures will be higher, around 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. In the evening and overnight, localized thunderstorms are possible in northern mountainous areas.

The central region will experience little precipitation and generous sunshine. Maximum temperatures will generally reach 27 to 31 degrees Celsius. The Central Highlands will benefit from prolonged sunshine and rising temperatures, generally 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.

In the south of Vietnam, the sun generally shines. Some areas in the east will experience high temperatures, reaching 35-36°C, while in the west they will generally be between 31-34°C. The risk of thunderstorms is low (10 to 20%) and they will be localized and exceptional, late in the afternoon and in the evening.

Meteorology and hydrology experts predict that from March 21, the heat wave hitting southern Vietnam will tend to extend from the east to certain localities in the west and could last for several more days.

Furthermore, from March 20 to 23, northern Vietnam, and particularly the Northeast region and Hanoi, will experience generally cloudy skies with increased humidity, scattered light rains and a slight drop in temperatures, but temperatures will nevertheless remain warm.
