We are an internationally recognized research institute and conduct basic research in the field of legal history and legal theory. We employ around 160 people in the service facilities and in the scientific area.
We are looking for as soon as possible one*one Head of building and operational technology (m/w/d).
Your tasks
Table of Contents
- Management of the “household and operational technology” area of our institute, here specifically ensuring the regular operation of the building and operational technology and proper functionality; the trades heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and elevators
- Monitoring and control of the technical systems using existing control technology, permanent documentation, clarification of fault messages, carrying out parameterization
- Maintenance of building documentation using ARCHIBUS software
- Recognition of maintenance measures or necessary repair measures, initiation of the commissioning process
- Preparation of service descriptions for the area of building services (including maintenance contracts) for procurement of tenders or tenders in accordance with procurement regulations in collaboration with the procurement office
- Planning the deployment of craftsmen, coordinating the work as well as checking, monitoring and carrying out functional tests as part of this
- Monitor whether the maintenance cycles of the individual companies are adhered to and carried out in accordance with the maintenance contracts
- Collaboration with administrative management, architects and specialist planners as well as the construction department of the Max Planck Society in Munich
- Creating ISO 50001 markers as part of the certification process
- Documentation of the primary energy sources and consumption development
- Leading the small team of two employees in the building technology/janitorial department
Your profile
You have successfully completed training in the areas of electrical engineering, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and water as well as further training to become a state-certified technician or certified master craftsman.
We expect several years of professional experience as well as good knowledge of dealing with building management systems. There should be a hands-on mentality when solving challenges with personal commitment. In addition to good computer skills (MS Office), basic knowledge of procurement law (market analysis, obtaining offers, creating service descriptions) is desirable. We require a car driving license and very good German and good English language skills. Initial experience in leading a small team would be an advantage.
Your personal strengths include a sense of responsibility, working independently and with great care, reliability, communication and teamwork skills, and organizational skills. You are flexible, resilient, and you approach new challenges with a certain curiosity. The willingness to undertake occasional business trips within the Max Planck Society and for further professional training round off your profile.

The remuneration is based on TVöD (federal government), including public service social benefits including company pension scheme (VBL) and a 90% annual special payment. Your professional experience will be taken into account when determining your salary. The position is generally divisible.
