We sincerely appreciate the insightful comments of Fergus J Caskey and colleagues on our individual patient data meta-analysis.1 First, we emphasise our congratulations to the authors on the successful completion of enrolment and follow-up for their randomised controlled trial investigating the effects of high-volume haemodiafiltration compared with high-flux haemodialysis on a range of clinical outcomes (H4RT). This trial is an important achievement and we eagerly anticipate the publication of their results in 2026.
