The city has secured a special coordination of Gyeongbuk Province in 2025 and operates upcycle experience education for 55 classes in 11 schools, including two kindergartens (8 classes) and nine elementary schools (47 classes) from May to September.
This training is part of the ‘Gumi -si Waste Cancer Recycling Project’, which is composed of a hands -on experience rather than theory, which naturally develops the environmental sensitivity of participating children. Elementary schools will be visited by a professional instructor to take classes, and the kindergarten will be held in the Saemaul Undong Theme Park.
The contents of the training consist of experiences that can be used in real life, such as the theory of resource circulation, creating a waste Hyun -myeon fragrance, and planting a hanging plant plant. In particular, the children made their own hands and focused on learning the importance of recycling resources.
In addition to this training, Gumi City is also using uphill fans to produce upcycling products such as shopping carts and umbrellas, and links to life -oriented projects such as traditional market shopping and shared umbrellas. The project is also contributing to the improvement of community welfare by leading to the creation of jobs for vulnerable groups.
Kim Hyung -soon, the head of the Gumi City Resources Circulation Division, said, “It is an important task for a sustainable society to instill the right perception of resource circulation from a young age.”
