O Google announced this Monday, March 9, the beginning of a new phase for the Google Campus in São Paulo. The space to support the startup ecosystem will soon reopen at a strategic address: an area attached to the future Google Engineering Center, located in Institute of Technological Research (IPT). The move places the Campus at the heart of a structure of more than 7,000 m² dedicated to innovation and cutting-edge technology.
Under the leadership of Mauricio MartinianoGoogle Campus has evolved to respond to the new economy “AI-First”. The central objective is to fuel the empowerment of intelligence and reduce the barriers between the entrepreneur and information. Second Fábio Coelhopresident of Google Brazil, the new campus reaffirms the company’s long-term commitment to the country, aiming to boost the next generation of entrepreneurs who will create a positive impact on both the local and global economy.
Renewed strategy and focus on Deep Tech
The new scenario requires a careful look at three fronts: consumer, founders and investors. Brazil stands out as a pioneering market, where 82% of the population already optimistically uses artificial intelligence tools. To keep up with this pace, Google Campus selected three central theses for action:
- Deep Tech: Focused on scientific research and advanced engineering to solve challenges in health, energy and climate.
- Agentic Solutions: Aimed at transforming the experience in sectors such as retail, moving from automation to process autonomy.
- Martech: Dedicated to modernizing the advertising ecosystem and the creator economy in Brazil.
Martiniano highlights that the Campus will facilitate the development of impactful solutions by connecting entrepreneurs, academia and Google engineering. The new facility will offer a complete infrastructure, consisting of 120 weekly rotating workstations, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, podcast studio and a public café to foster spontaneous connections.
New programs and technical acceleration
Execution is the fundamental pillar of this new phase. Thais Melendezprogram manager at Google Campus, explains that the space was designed so that founders can participate in all stages of creation, rescuing the company’s essence of innovation. For the second half of 2026, three new programs have been detailed:
- AI Board Academy: Strategic discussions lasting three to six months between founders and leaders of Google and large companies about AI and leadership.
- Matchmaking: An intensive accelerator lasting up to one month to connect the agility of startups to the needs of large corporations through proofs of concept (PoCs).
- AI Speed Launch: A one-day technical immersion format, connecting startups directly with Google engineers for rapid prototyping and validation.
The expectation is to select up to 50 startups for the initial phases of these programs, prioritizing those that use artificial intelligence as a central part of their products. In addition to direct support, Google Campus will promote open events and debates to democratize access to technological expertise and allow new founders to transform complex problems into scalable solutions in Brazil.
