If you use mobile emulation, you may have a large portion of your phone’s screen taken up by a recreation of the controller used on a GameBoy, Nintendo DS, or other similar portable. However, GameSir wants to try and change that, and at CES we talked about how the company is focusing on emulation with its range of mobile accessories.
Specifically, we talked to community manager Jinpeng Liu about GameSir’s Pocket Taco, a Bluetooth accessory that clips to your phone at the bottom. “This thing here is very portable and easy to access,” Liu explained. “You put it in your pocket. On the bus, you pull it out and clamp it and there you go With Super Mario Bros. or whatever 2DS, 3DS, whatever you want.”
This doesn’t affect the screen’s aspect ratio, and the response time seems pretty solid. We didn’t get too much of a chance to check out the Pocket Taco for ourselves, as we were too busy discussing every other part of the GameSir range at CES. You can see it all in the full interview below:
